Coronavirus, and what we are doing at Carr's
In line with government guidelines and for the safety of our clients and instructors we ceased teaching in our cars from Saturday 21st March 2020 until further notice. We will be awaiting suitable instruction from the authorities to re commence lessons when it is considered safe to do so.
In line with government guidance, we anticipate driving lessons to start again from 4th July 2020 or shortly after. This is when 'one to one' type businesses have been told that it may be safe to start work again. Of course this if totally dependant on the spread of the virus being considered under control and a second 'spike' has not occured. We have invested in PPE for ourselves and our clients to wear in the cars if need be and will monitor advice in this area.
Please feel free to contact us on this matter if you wish.
Although we have stopped teaching in our cars, we have not stopped working on our training with pupils. We are able to help those awaiting their theory tests with online theory test practice which is all part of the package we offer to those learning with us, so there is no extra cost to them.
We are also just about to launch an online pre practical learning package customised to our clients, new and present, to help them start get to know some of the detail about driving a car from the basics upwards. By completing this online course it should help cut the time and cost of lessons when lessons in the cars are allowed to commence again.
If you would like to apply to do this course, go to the contact tab on this website or contact us direct by phone. We will be happy to explain how it works hand how it will help you make a 'head start' before you get in the car.
In the meantime we hope you and your families are safe and well and look forward to being able to teach our clients as soon as is possible.
260 Passes In The Last Year!
Driving is a skill for life, so our aim is to ensure your training will make you a safe, considerate and confident driver with all the benefits that can bring.
Established in 2005 an average of 150 pupils a year have passed their tests with us at a much greater than average first time pass rate.
The majority of our business we are proud to say comes from recommendations.
Areas covered: Carr's Driving Tuition is able to offer driving lessons in Crowborough, Heathfield, Uckfield, Paddock Wood, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Maidstone, Sutton Valance, Kings Hill, Yalding, Marden, Cranbrook, Staplehurst, Goudhurst and surrounding villages.
From the 1st October 2019 our hourly rate will be £32.50 per hour Monday to Friday up to 6pm. All other times prices on request.
Although willing to take 1 hr lessons we recommend 2 hr lessons for our pupils which provide the equivalent of 3 x 1 hr learning time, making your learning quicker and much more cost effective saving up to 30% on the equivalent amount of hours taken as 1 or 1 ½ hr lessons.
Subject to instructor availability we can offer a last minute test package consisting of a minimum of 6 hrs of lessons. Assuming the client reaches a level we asses to be of test standard we will take them to test on the chosen test date and time. Price on application.
From the time you picked up for your first lesson our instructors Paul Carr, Dan Scott, Peter Smith, Nick Parrett, Franco Chater, Aaron Mitchell, Jose Fialho and Mike Hayward will make sure you are learning to drive even before you get behind the wheel.
We take great pride in ensuring lessons are running to schedule and are a full learning experience from beginning to end.
Lessons will be conducted in a new DS3, C3 or Renault Capture with dual controls which are of course fully insured for teaching and test purposes.
We are able to offer intensive type courses on request. Due to the nature of these courses we will need to discuss individual needs, timescales etc to work towards a test at the conclusion of the course. Please enquire by phone or via the 'contact us' tab here on the website. Prices on application.
From the 4th June 2018 we will offer all of our pupils a lesson on motorways in line with the change in regulations to allow learners on motorways with fully qualified instructors from that date.
As registered Instructors we can offer the post practical test Pass Plus course giving you the opportunity to re-visit your driving skill base with some helpful advice along the way including a session on motorway driving and gain some impressive discounts from some insurance companies. There is no test to take at the end of the 6 hour course, POA, and you will receive a certificate from the DSA confirming that you have completed the course successfully.
Are you ready for your Theory Test? Why not try a practice test? As a pupil of Carr's Driving Tuition you will benefit from free access to Theory Test Pro with an average 80% first time pass rate. Go to our 'The Test' page to have a go.
If you are a qualified ADI or PDI who feels that you may like to join a local motivated group of instructors who offer a second to non 'Learn to drive solution', or think you would like to become a Driving Instructor, please make contact so that we can discuss your needs and ambition. It will not cost as much as you might think.
